Hi, I’m Marianne. I am travel writer, food blogger, website owner, wine lover and mum of two.
I have been based in Sydney since 2018, and before that had the pleasure of calling Hong Kong home for 4 years and Singapore for 7 years. I have also lived in Vanuatu (where I was born), Papua New Guinea (where I grew up), England (where I went to school), Edinburgh (where I went to university), Costa Rica and Spain (where I studied Spanish) and Portugal (where I studied Portuguese).
As you can tell, I have always had a passion for travel, and thankfully having children hasn’t meant an end to this. Although I don’t trek up as many hills or through as many rainforests as I once did, as a family we still travel far and wide.
I am a firm believer that having kids doesn’t have to stop you exploring the world and engaging in adventurous and culturally interesting activities.
Food Blogger
My food blog is Mama Loves to Cook and is where I share all my favourite family recipes with over 100,000 readers per month. I spend a lot of my time these days tinkering in the kitchen and developing new recipes.
A strong focus of my food blog is Thermomix recipes and I share these with my 50,000 + followers on a dedicated Facebook page called Love My Thermie.
Travel Blogger
I run two travel websites.
My family travel blog is Mum on the Move. This started as a bit of a hobby and has turned into a major part of my business. Through my helpful, in-depth articles I help over 50,000 families per month plan their family travels. Read more about the blog here.
My destination travel website is Singapore Travel Insider, designed to be a go-to guide to help visitors plan their trip to Singapore, with lots of insider travel tips and information. It helps around 30,000 people a month plan their trip to Singapore, supported by a Facebook page of more than 50,000 followers.
Freelance Writer
My main focus for writing these days is family travel, and I contribute to several magazines and websites. You can read more about my Freelance Writing here.
